Job Summary
Conduct preventive maintenance and repairs on mobile equipment including fork trucks, AGVs, Harlan trains, and small gas engines. Maintain USG roads, grounds, and railroad tracks while managing LP tank supplies and waste haulage. Diagnose and fix machinery, motors, hydraulic systems, and conveyor equipment using manufacturer manuals and engineering specifications. Operate heavy plant service equipment and float to support department needs as required. Shifts run 6a–2p Monday through Friday, with potential adjustments for nights, weekends, and overtime. Valid driver's license and mechanical fundamentals in hydraulics and pneumatics are required.
Required Qualifications
- Valid Driver's license issued by the State of primary residence
- Must have safe work practices
- Must have regular and predictable attendance
- Must be able to safely operate plant mobile equipment and plant services heavy equipment
- Must be able to perform the essential physical requirements necessary for this job area, which may include lifting items 49 lbs. or less, working in extreme temperatures, and negotiating uneven terrain, ramps, steps and ladders
- Must complete the mechanical skills assessment
Desired Qualifications
- Knowledge of vehicle maintenance and ability to operate heavy equipment preferred
