MECHANIC MILLWRIGHT

Repair and replacement of parts and equipment and machinery in an industrial pulp mill; supervises Apprentice Millwright; performs welding with cutting torch and plasma arc, grinders, and a wide variety of handheld tools; reads blueprints, schematics, layouts, and diagrams; consults technical manuals and uses computer to access parts; sheet metal work and bench repair, dismantling and assembly; uses calipers, dial indicators, machinist squares, Opti-line laser alignment; collaborates with technicians on procedures, safety, and quality control; troubleshooting across equipment; operates a pickup to move parts and equipment; may service pumps at river pump house; works at various heights including ladders, lifts and cranes; uses lifting devices and come-a-longs as needed.
