Job Summary
Complete a quality preventative maintenance inspection and repairs on all company owned equipment, including tractors, trailers, refrigerated units, and support systems. Disassemble, repair, and re-assemble heavy truck and trailer components such as diesel engines, transmissions, axles, and refrigerated units. Inspect, analyze, troubleshoot, and diagnose minor and complex repairs while maintaining a clean and safe work environment. Assist shop personnel to foster a cohesive learning environment and provide daily oversight to assigned mechanics to ensure productivity and quality goals are achieved. May perform tire maintenance, conduct failure analysis, and test drive equipment if certified.
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years' related experience and/or training
- High School or combination of training and/or experience
- Drivers license
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Demonstrated/proven superior customer service skills
- Ability to read and understand repair manuals
- Understanding and ability to complete/fill tags and repair orders
- Ability to use and learn various diagnostic software used on tractor/trailers
- Excellent computer skills
