Job Summary
Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair heavy equipment including cranes, forklifts, skid steers, trucks, loaders, and excavators; perform preventative maintenance and major component repairs on diesel engines, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical systems for heavy equipment; inspect, service, and maintain heavy equipment to ensure safe, reliable operation and minimize downtime; perform mechanical and electrical repairs on manufacturing equipment and plant systems including conveyors, mixers, electrical distribution, HVAC, and automation controls; respond to equipment breakdowns and emergency repair needs in a timely manner; operate heavy equipment such as overhead cranes, forklifts, and yard vehicles as needed; read and interpret schematics, blueprints, and technical manuals for both heavy equipment and plant systems; ensure all equipment is tested, compliant, and safe prior to returning to service while maintaining accurate maintenance records and a clean, safe work environment.
Required Qualifications
- minimum 2+ years of diesel maintenance, heavy equipment mechanic work, or mechanical/machine repair/troubleshooting
- experience with heavy equipment and/or industrial manufacturing environments
- strong mechanical, electrical, and diesel systems knowledge
- ability to diagnose and repair equipment issues efficiently
- experience operating cranes or forklifts preferred
- basic welding and fabrication experience a plus
- read and understand blueprints and technical manuals
- strong problem-solving and communication skills
- valid driver's license
- ability to work independently and as part of a team
- willingness to work indoors/outdoors and in varying conditions
- PPE proficiency
