Job Summary
Mechanic Level II responsible for inspecting, diagnosing, and repairing vehicles, trucks, forklifts, and related equipment using diagnostic tools; performs repairs on gasoline, diesel, and propane engines and associated systems (cooling, fuel, electrical, exhaust); conducts preventive maintenance, plans large repair projects, and may supervise Mechanic I. Must be able to read blueprints and technical material, fabricate/weld as needed, maintain records, and ensure work is completed safely and cost-effectively. Strong emphasis on diagnosing problems, testing, and coordinating repair activities; opportunities to supervise junior technicians and coordinate multiple maintenance tasks.
Required Qualifications
- Some vocational or formal education in hydraulics and diesel engine repair
- Three years on the job experience in diesel mechanics and hydraulics
- Experience working as an auto mechanic preferred
