Job Summary
Perform preventative maintenance, diagnosis, service, and repair on steering, suspension, brakes, engines, transmissions, differentials, electrical systems, wheelchair lifts, and air conditioning. Analyze damaged parts and assist with inventory control as needed. Work a 40-hour week with overtime available, earning a starting rate of $34.42/hour with monthly tool allotments and annual safety gear. Obtain a Class B license within 90 days through paid training, with hourly increases for earned ASE certifications and a bonus for Master Certification. Receive no-cost ASE training and testing, plus support for repairing electric Gillig Buses.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Combination of at least one (1) to two (2) years of apprentice level verifiable training and experience in automotive or diesel mechanics, which may include high school mechanics courses and/or a regional occupational program
- Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen and random drug testing
- Must obtain Class B License within 90 days of hire
