Job Summary
Diagnose, examine, and investigate vehicles to determine causes of defective operation for steering, suspension, brakes, engines, transmissions, electrical, wheelchair lifts, and air conditioning systems. Perform scheduled preventative maintenance and execute major and minor repairs of defective components. Assist in inventory control and part analysis as necessary. Document all activities in the Fleet Management System and maintain a safe, organized work environment. Requires five years of apprentice-level training and experience; 40-hour week with overtime as needed.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Combination of at least five (5) years of apprentice level verifiable training and experience in automotive or diesel mechanics, which may include high school mechanics courses and/or a regional occupational program
- Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen and random drug testing
