Job Summary
Perform repair, installation, and preventative maintenance on HVAC systems, portable units, dehumidifiers, exhaust vents, and safety checks. Supervise and train Mechanic IIs on proper processes while assuming responsibility for all tools and materials. Operate hand tools, meters, gauges, sheet metal tools, and power equipment to complete assigned maintenance work orders. Drive the district vehicle to work sites, maintaining parts, PPE, and inventory while performing daily safety checks. Make decisions impacting schools and stakeholders, exercising independent judgment under HVAC Supervisor guidance. Requires regular contact with internal and external parties.
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma or GED certificate
- Two (2) years commercial HVAC experience
- Valid Georgia driver's license
- EPA refrigerant license
- Independent judgement
- Ability to make decisions which impact the schools/buildings/stakeholders of the district
- Ability to exercise the duty of care and protection of the health, safety, security, welfare, well-being, and best interests of the district's various stakeholders
- Ability to undergo the required physical examination

- Trade specific certificate
- Knowledge in processing paperwork electronically utilizing Word, Excel, and Outlook, Gmail, Google Docs, Incident IQ, etc.
