Job Summary
Perform advanced diagnostics and major repairs on light- and heavy-duty trucks and equipment, including rebuilding engines, transmissions, and differentials. Complete preventative maintenance and DOT annual inspections while troubleshooting engines, transmissions, drivetrains, brakes, suspension, and steering systems. Utilize diagnostic software such as Cat ET, Cummins Insight, Davies, and ESA to support business operations. Assist with fabrication and welding as needed and maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment. Accurately document all repair and maintenance activities. This permanent, non-rotational position in Fairbanks, AK, offers stability for skilled diesel mechanics with 5+ years of experience.
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of diesel or heavy equipment mechanic experience
- Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills
- Valid Driver's License with a clean driving record
- Ability to work extended hours when needed
- Ability to perform physically demanding work
Desired Qualifications
- Commercial Driver's License (CDL)
- ASE Certifications or diesel technology training
- Experience with Class 8 trucks and mixed fleets
