Job Summary
Disassemble, rebuild, and test moderate to highly complex equipment in the Houston Machine Shop while interpreting drawings and engineering specifications. Use mechanical tools to position, reassemble, and paint machinery, conducting risk assessments before operations and material movements. Troubleshoot minor maintenance issues, set up test operations, and ensure facility equipment remains operational and safe. Maintain a clean environment, report hazardous conditions, and complete required training and documentation. Valid driver's license and ability to lift, push, and pull are required. Willingness to work overtime, weekends, and holidays is necessary.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- 0–2 years of experience in mechanical test and assembly/disassembly or heavy equipment repair and maintenance
- Physically capable of pushing, pulling, lifting, bending, and other physical activity
- Able to interpret drawings, prints, and engineering specifications
- Valid driver's license
- Knowledgeable in safety regulations and good housekeeping practices
- Basic math skills and the ability to read schematics
- Familiar with common tools and equipment operation
- Willing to work overtime, weekends, and holidays as required
- Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail
Desired Qualifications
- 2+ years of experience in operations or service center applications
- Strong knowledge of natural gas engine and compressor equipment
