Job Summary
Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair mechanical and electrical malfunctions on District vehicles while performing routine preventive maintenance. Evaluate driver reports to determine vehicle safety status, conduct post-repair road tests, and maintain assigned tools and equipment. Prioritize daily maintenance tasks based on vehicle availability and scheduled departures, then order necessary parts and materials. Respond to after-hours and weekend service calls, instruct helpers, and prepare accurate maintenance records and logs. Maintain a clean shop environment and address driver inquiries regarding vehicle concerns.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Four (4) years of relevant experience in Auto Mechanics
- ASE Certification in G1 – Auto Maintenance and Light Repair
- Valid state driver's license
