Job Summary
Work on diesel pickup trucks, dump/semi-trucks, and railroad equipment by performing electrical maintenance, troubleshooting, simple maintenance, welding, and annual DOT inspections. Operate under the supervision of a mechanic and management team while traveling 50% of the time, including overnight stays. Perform essential duties on concrete and varying terrains, lifting 100 pounds repeatedly, and manipulating power and hand tools while wearing required PPE. Earn $20-$22/hr DOE with health, dental, vision, life insurance, and 401k benefits. Work 10-, 12-, or 14-hour shifts with overtime available at Vorst Rail Services, LLC.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma, High School Equivalence Certificate, or experience to compensate
- Valid driver's license
- Must be able to travel up to 50% of the time
- Overnight stays
- Must be able to pass required tests, random screenings (drug and alcohol) and training including DOT physicals
- Must be able to pass all FRA regulations
- Mechanically inclined
- Quick learner
- Safety awareness
- Following directions
- Must be able to work on your feet on concrete and varying terrains
- Must be able to lift 100 pounds repeatedly
- Must be able to manipulate power and hand tools
- Must lace-up steel-toed boots at least 6 inches high
- Must wear long pants that completely cover your legs, do not have excessive holes or rips, and are of a material to withstand the wear and tear of the job
