Job Summary
Assists mechanics in repairing vehicles and engines, maintains the garage area in a clean, safe, and orderly condition, performs tire maintenance and replacement, assists in inspections of school bus- and district vehicles, and supports road calls and recoveries. Requires knowledge of general mechanic methods and physical strength; a valid Class A CDL with appropriate endorsements (or ability to obtain) within six months. High school diploma or equivalent preferred. Employment with Charlotte County Public Schools includes benefits and is contingent upon drug screening and background checks.
Required Qualifications
- Ability to perform work involving physical strength and endurance
- Knowledge (or the ability to gain knowledge) of the methods utilized in general mechanic work
- Valid Class A commercial driver’s license with appropriate endorsements to operate a school bus within six (6) months of employment (or ability to obtain within six (6) months of meeting FDOT licensing requirements)
