Job Summary
Perform preventive maintenance inspections and general repairs on all Company vehicles and equipment, including making service calls and completing required documents for work order systems. Execute shift duties as needed and attend the Mechanic Training Program to pass the position examination. Obtain a valid "B" Commercial Driver's license with air brake endorsements within 60 days of hiring. This role requires a good work history and safe driving record of three years, plus at least one year of diesel and gasoline vehicle repair experience. Candidates must be capable of lifting 75 pounds to waist height and operate all company equipment. Work is performed in a garage or outdoors with exposure to inclement weather, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year.
Required Qualifications
- 18 years of age or older
- High school diploma or equivalency
- At least one (1) year previous experience in diesel and gasoline vehicle repair and/or relevant technical school training
- Good work history and safe driving record of three (3) years
- Attend Pace's Mechanic Training Program and pass examination for position
- Valid 'B' Commercial Driver's license with air brake endorsements (must have or obtain within 60 days of being hired)
- Good starter set of hand tools sufficient for performing the duties of the position
- Ability to operate all company equipment and have knowledge of the service area
- Capability of lifting 75 pounds to waist height, maintaining and carrying that weight for a minimum of ten feet
- Availability for work 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year
- Eligibility for on-site work (not eligible for hybrid schedule or telecommuting)
