Job Summary
Heavy Equipment Mechanic responsible for performing required repairs on the construction fleet of trucks and trailers (belly dumps, lowboys, pups) and various earthmoving equipment. Responsibilities include safety-compliant repairs (starters, alternators, water pumps, hydraulic hoses), troubleshooting air/other system issues, performing preventative maintenance, reading maintenance manuals, operating service truck, and collaborating with the team to ensure equipment is ready for the next shift.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Valid Class A Driver's License with clean driving record
- Hazmat and tanker endorsements
- Familiar with the operation of scrapers, dozers, excavators, blades, articulated dump trucks, and wheel loaders
- Ability to read and interpret oil sample reports
- Have the ability to work independently with limited supervision
- Knowledge of the operation of various pieces of earthmoving equipment/trucks and trailers
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs repeatedly throughout the work day
- Ability to pass background and drug and alcohol tests
