Job Summary
Diagnose and repair diesel engines, powertrain components, air brakes, steering, suspension, electrical systems, and emission systems. Perform routine truck inspections and maintenance of fleet equipment using scan tools and laptop technology. Follow instructions from shift leaders while working independently or with a team to maintain an effective and clean work environment. Ensure all job functions are completed with your own tools or by obtaining them as needed. Monday through Friday, starting at 9:00 PM on Monday-Thursday and 6:30 PM on Friday. Earn $20.00 to $33.00 per hour plus a $2.00 shift differential for overnight positions, with overtime paid at time and a half after 40 hours.
Required Qualifications
- At least 18 years of age
- Must hold a valid CDL Class A driver's license OR be willing to successfully complete Company paid CDL training program
- Ability to lift up to 75 pounds
- Ability to pass a DOT physical exam
- Must be able to spend a minimum of eight hours on feet
- Work environment involves ability to bend, kneel, crouch, walk, and drive
- Work environment may involve hazards such as diesel exhaust, brake dust, grease, antifreeze, and other elements associated with vehicle repair
- Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screening and a criminal background check
Desired Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- 2 years technical instruction in diesel or auto mechanics is preferred
- Welding and torch experience is a plus but not required
- Ability to operate a manual transmission vehicle or be willing to learn
