Job Summary
Mechanic (Gate 1) at Pratt & Whitney Columbus Engine Center on first shift onsite in Midland, GA. You will overhaul, repair, and assemble advanced jet engines used in commercial and military aircraft, working as part of a team to restore engines to peak performance, safety, and reliability. Responsibilities include turbine engine, engine module, or component maintenance per published work instructions and approved data; disassembly/assembly using hand tools and fixtures; testing of jet engines; and ensuring adherence to safety, quality, and delivery objectives. Preferred qualifications include aviation engine overhaul/repair experience and an A&P license or Powerplant certificate; hands-on experience in disassembly, inspection, assembly, or turbine engine test operations; and familiarity with Lean Six Sigma, SAP, and Microsoft Office.
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma or G.E.D. equivalent
- Aviation engine overhaul and repair experience
- Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) License or Powerplant (P) Certificate
- Hands-on experience in disassembly, inspection, assembly, or turbine engine test operations
