Job Summary
Perform maintenance and repairs on on-road trucks, heavy equipment, and asphalt plant machinery while ensuring DOT compliance. Troubleshoot complex mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, and drivetrain issues with minimal supervision and complete preventative maintenance to reduce downtime. Diagnose problems independently, handle field service calls and shop-based repairs, and perform welding and light fabrication as needed. Inspect equipment for potential failures, manage components using parts systems, and maintain accurate work orders. Operate company vehicles and mobile equipment safely across job sites while adhering to all safety policies and procedures.
Required Qualifications
- 3+ years of experience working on heavy equipment, construction equipment, or on-road diesel trucks
- Strong troubleshooting skills across mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems
- Ability to work independently and manage your own workload in field and shop environments
- Commitment to safety and adherence to DOT and company safety standards
- Ability to lift up to 70 lbs, work at heights, and perform physically demanding tasks
- Willingness to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
Desired Qualifications
- Experience performing DOT annual inspections
- Familiarity with diagnostic software
- Ability to read hydraulic and electrical schematics
- Technical or vocational training in diesel or heavy equipment
