Job Summary
Field mechanic position delivering service to Northern Utah and South Salt Lake counties, based at the Saratoga Springs Pelican Point plant. Performs diesel and gasoline engine repairs and maintenance, diagnoses and repairs powertrain components, hydraulics, truck air brake systems, suspension and steering, and electrical systems; welding and cutting of minor repairs. Requires knowledge of OSHA and MSHA regulations and safety orders; works both independently and in a team; may work multiple shifts with overtime and alternating Saturdays; must work outdoors and lift/carry up to 75 lbs; must have own tools and a valid driver’s license with a clean MVR. Equipment experience includes Kenworth, Peterbilt, Freight Liner, Oshkosh, and Terex. Benefits include health/dental insurance, Holiday Pay, PTO, 401(k) match, and boot allowance after one year.
Required Qualifications
- At least 2 years of diesel mechanic experience
- Own tools
- Prefer high school diploma or GED
- Commercial driver’s license preferred but not required
- Must have a valid driver’s license and clean MVR
- Able to read and comprehend maintenance manuals
- Able to write legibly to complete orders and paperwork
- Experience with welding preferred
- Experience with hydraulics and electrical preferred but not required
- Must be able to work outdoors
- Able to work various shifts; overtime and Saturdays as needed
- Knowledge of OSHA and MSHA regulations and safety orders
- Must be able to work in fast-paced environment
- Experience with constructing/repairing hydraulic and electrical systems
- Able to operate on multiple truck models (Kenworth, Peterbilt, Freightliner, Oshkosh, Terex)
