Job Summary
Mechanic responsible for inspecting, diagnosing, overhaul, and repair of heavy haul vehicles, concrete mixer fleets, and heavy earth-moving support equipment across multiple project environments. Travels between temporary plant installations and delivery zones to provide regular fleet PMs and emergency field support. Performs advanced mechanical work on non-agitator wet-mix dump units and dry-mox ready-mix trucks, troubleshooting drum rotation gear drives, water pumps, and hydraulic lines. Maintains fleet safety, conducts engine, brake, and chassis interventions with proper PPE and equipment, files FMCSA logs and DOT inspection records, and coordinates with the regional Maintenance Manager to address daily truck issues. Emphasizes health, safety, and environmental policy adherence and a culture of safety.
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma or equivalent preferred
- Must have a valid driver's license, Class A or B commercial driver's license preferred
- 3 years experience directly related to the duties or mechanics school graduate
- Requires working outdoors in all types of weather conditions
- They may be required to work long and unpredictable hours
- Must be able to stand for long periods on varied surfaces
- Must be able to move freely, including the ability to stoop, crawl, and bend at the knees and waist
- Must be able to lift 100 pounds unassisted
- Successful candidates must adhere to all safety protocols and proper use of PPE
