Job Summary
Operate all District equipment safely and assist in diagnosing, assigning, and repairing trucks, trailers, snow removal apparatus, turf machinery, and school property. Perform routine and preventative maintenance while maintaining a safe and clean work environment. Work overtime as required by supervisors or district administration and attend meetings when requested. Maintain respectful and courteous interactions with parents, students, and staff while functioning as a team player on assigned duties. Requires proper licensing, five years of experience, and ability to lift 60 pounds repeatedly.
Required Qualifications
- Properly licensed to operate vehicles, including Passenger/School Bus endorsements
- Must be willing to serve as substitute driver when needed
- Demonstrates aptitude and competence for automotive, tractor, turf equipment repair, and mechanical problem solving
- Must have excellent communication skills
- Must be team oriented
- Must be neat in appearance
- Must be dependable
- Must be punctual
- Must be helpful and pleasant in dealing with people
- Must have certification to inspect school buses or be willing to obtain one
- Must have the ability to lift a minimum of 60 pounds repeatedly and to turn, twist, and bend as required to operate equipment and perform duties
Desired Qualifications
- A minimum five (5) years of experience and/or vocational courses and related certification preferred
