Job Summary
Assist shop leadership with preventative maintenance and basic repairs on Diesel and Compressed Natural Gas vehicles to maintain fleet safety. Conduct inspections of brake systems, engine components, emission systems, steering mechanisms, and wheel bearings. Perform DOT, PM, and safety inspections while test driving trucks to diagnose malfunctions. Complete work orders, order parts, and perform administrative duties as required. Maintain a clean work area and ensure compliance with all safety regulations. Requires entry-level experience, Class A or B CDL, and willingness to learn complex diagnostics.
Required Qualifications
- Entry-level knowledge/experience of at least 1+ years
- Willingness to learn more complex diagnostic and repair process
- Knowledge of DOT, OSHA and other related state and federal regulations
- Ability to communicate effectively across various levels of the organization and communicate with customers and external vendors
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating, and maintenance instructions and procedural manuals
- Must be computer literate
- Willingness and ability to be trained in software systems
- Class A or B Commercial Driver's License (CDL) preferred, or the willingness and ability to obtain one within six (6) months of employment
- ASE certifications preferred
- Valid work authorization in the country where the job is located
- Ability to stand, sit, walk, use hands and fingers, reach, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, talk, hear, climb, balance
- Continuous concentrated mental and visual attention
- Close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus
- Ability to operate trucks and other equipment used as needed
- Ability to use a computer and related devices, such as a keyboard or mouse or other related equipment, throughout the workday while seated at a desk or workstation
- Ability to climb ladders, bend or stand for long periods of time
- Ability to reach above shoulders and lift to 50 pounds and push/pull up to 100 pounds
Desired Qualifications
- Experience using diagnostic software is preferred
- Active participation in training classes and development opportunities to increase skills and working knowledge
