Job Summary
Diesel Mechanics at Empower Rental Group diagnose and repair heavy equipment, perform preventative maintenance, prepare rental units for delivery, and clean equipment before/during returns. Responsibilities include assisting customers with loading/unloading fleet orders, answering questions, supporting other mechanics with lifting and moving materials, maintaining the yard and shop area, performing standard and complex repairs on the fleet, completing inspections, and contributing to a continuous improvement strategy. The role requires experience with powertrain, hydraulic, and electrical systems, use of computer analyzers and traditional troubleshooting, and timely completion of service calls and maintenance while ensuring a safe work environment.
Required Qualifications
- Over 3-5 years of experience
- A Valid Driver’s License and the Ability to Drive Company Vehicles if required
- Must have own basic tools
- Excellent customer service skills
- Basic computer skills
- Ability to perform repairs on heavy equipment powertrain, hydraulic, and electrical systems
- Ability to perform preventative maintenance
- Ability to complete inspections and documentation
- Ability to work with supervision and adhere to safety policies
