Job Summary

Diagnose and repair advanced mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems on trailers, diesel, gasoline vehicles, and plant equipment including wheel loaders and skid steers. Perform emissions testing, roadside service calls, and routine maintenance like oil changes and fluid checks while maintaining accurate service records in fleet management systems. Act as a mentor to junior mechanics and coordinate with vendors for parts and warranty work. Work the night shift from 5pm to 5am, adhering to all safety rules and participating in ongoing training and certification programs as needed.

Required Qualifications

  • Must have valid Driver's license
  • Brake Certification required
  • 7+ years of experience in vehicle maintenance or related technical field OR Vocational training plus 3+ years of related work
  • Must have personal basic tool set to perform preventative maintenance based on location
  • Proficiency of diesel and gasoline engine operation and components
  • Experience with OEM diagnostics tools and software
  • Ability to interpret wiring diagrams, schematics, work orders, and technical manuals
  • Experience with hand tools, power tools, and shop equipment
  • Detail oriented; highly organized
  • Proficient experience with basic computer tasks and use of fleet software
  • Class A CDL (depending on location Class A CDL is required, confirm with location)
  • Ability to successfully lead teams
  • Exceptional written and oral communication skills
  • Self-starter; self-motivated
  • Must be able to lift 50 lbs

Desired Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED preferred
  • ASE certifications in areas such as Diesel Engines, Brakes, and Electrical Systems desired
