Job Summary
Inspect, maintain, and repair machinery, equipment, systems, buildings, and physical structures using safe work practices and appropriate personal protective equipment. Prepare, read, and interpret blueprints, diagrams, and sketches to perform measurements and calculations while following established operating procedures. Make minor repairs and adjustments to keep equipment operational, or remove machinery requiring major repair or that cannot function while in position. Assist higher-rated mechanics with major repairs, reinstalls, and general construction tasks including masonry, carpentry, and painting. Operate mobile equipment, perform preventive and predictive maintenance, troubleshoot faults, and conduct inspections on machinery and fire protection systems. Fill out work orders, requisitions, and inspection reports to maintain accurate records. Perform duties during cleanouts and emergencies to restore plant operations efficiently.
Required Qualifications
- Must be able to assist, under supervision, in other job skills when it is a requisite for job completion
- Must possess and maintain the necessary tools for above classification where required and be proficient in their use and care
- Must be physically able to perform essential job functions
