Job Summary

Diagnose and repair diesel, gas engines, electrical systems, transmissions, and hydraulic systems on trailers, plant equipment, and fleet vehicles. Troubleshoot air brake systems, suspension components, and drivetrains while interpreting repair manuals and using diagnostics software to identify issues. Perform preventive maintenance including oil changes, filter replacements, and fluid checks on wheel loaders, skid steers, and farm tractors. Maintain accurate service records in fleet management systems and respond to roadside service calls when required. Mentor Mechanic 1s and assist in diagnosing mechanical issues using basic diagnostic tools. Adhere to all safety rules and participate in ongoing training and certification programs as needed.

Required Qualifications

  • Must have valid Driver's license
  • Brake Certification required
  • 3+ years of experience in vehicle maintenance or related technical field OR Vocational training plus 1+ year of related work
  • Must have personal basic tool set to perform preventative maintenance (based on location)
  • Proficiency of diesel and gasoline engine operation and components
  • Experience with OEM diagnostics tools and software
  • Ability to interpret wiring diagrams, schematics, work orders, and technical manuals
  • Experience with hand tools, power tools, and shop equipment
  • Detail oriented; highly organized
  • Proficient experience with basic computer tasks and use of fleet software
  • Class A CDL (depending on location Class A CDL is required, confirm with location)
  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position (Sit)
  • Must be able to move about inside/outside office or work location (Walk)
  • Must be able to position one's self to maintain computers in the lab, including under desks and in the server closet (Stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl)
  • Must be able to ascend/descend on a ladder (Climb or balance)
