Job Summary
Inspect, diagnose, and repair vehicles and machinery across engine, suspension, steering, brakes, electrical, and HVAC systems. Replace worn components, perform tune-ups, flush coolants, service brakes and ABS, troubleshoot wiring, and repair climate control units in compliance with environmental regulations. Utilize diagnostic tools and scanners to interpret trouble codes and sensor readings while maintaining proper alignment and system calibration. Maintain a valid driver's license and demonstrate strong problem-solving skills to ensure safe, efficient vehicle operation.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- 5+ years of hands-on practical experience
- Proficiency in using diagnostic equipment, hand tools, and power tools
- A valid driver's license and acceptable driving record
- Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to quickly identify issues and develop solutions
- Attention to Detail: Precision in diagnosing problems and making repairs
- Physical Stamina and Dexterity: ability to handle tools and components comfortably
- Organizational Skills: Keeping track of multiple repairs, parts orders, and schedules
- Willingness to Continue Learning: ongoing training and education to stay current with automotive trends and techniques
Desired Qualifications
- vocational training or technical training program in automotive service technology or a related field
- ASE Certification
