Job Summary
Mechanic-1 is responsible for repairing and maintaining production machinery and equipment including motors, conveyors, printers, and line support devices. The role requires setting up, adjusting, repairing, operating, and maintaining equipment within a proficient time frame; reviewing unit quality and taking corrective actions; recommending improvements to the Production Manager; working with machine shop on major breakdowns; training operators and apprentices; completing QC forms accurately; and performing other duties as assigned. Must communicate positively with coworkers, be trained in Lockout/Tagout, be available for overtime, and have journeyman training or equivalent experience; CPR and basic first aid certifications are required.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED or equivalent
- Journeyman training for die setter/press mechanic or equivalent training
- CPR certification and basic first aid
- Lockout and Tagout training or certification
- Ability to read and interpret safety rules and maintenance instructions
- Ability to stand/walk, lift up to 50 pounds, and work in loud environments
