Job Summary

Conduct routine maintenance and perform basic repairs on trailers, diesel, and gasoline-powered vehicles, as well as plant equipment including wheel loaders, skid steers, and farm tractors. Review driver vehicle inspection reports and repair inspections, then perform tasks such as oil changes, filter replacements, and fluid checks. Inspect and replace basic components like belts, hoses, batteries, and lights while assisting in diagnosing mechanical issues using basic diagnostic tools. Maintain shop cleanliness, document work performed through maintenance logs or fleet management systems, and respond to roadside service calls for disabled vehicles. Adhere strictly to company safety rules and regulations, attend safety meetings, and participate in ongoing training and certification programs as needed.

Required Qualifications

  • Must have valid Driver's license
  • 1+ year experience in vehicle maintenance or related technical field
  • Must have personal basic tool set to perform preventative maintenance (based on location)
  • Basic understanding of diesel and gasoline engine operation and components
  • Experience with hand tools, power tools, and shop equipment
  • Experience with basic computer tasks and use of fleet software
  • Detail oriented; highly organized
  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position
  • Must be able to move about inside/outside office or work location
  • Must be able to use senses to; effectively communicate with co-workers and clients and detect hazardous conditions
  • Must be able to ascend/descend on a ladder
  • Must be able to position one's self to maintain computers in the lab, including under desks and in the server closet
  • Must be able to effectively communicate with co-workers and clients and detect hazardous conditions
  • Must be able to identify and distinguish colors
  • Must be able to adjust focus
  • Must be able to detect hazardous conditions

Desired Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED preferred
  • Class A CDL preferred, may be required based on requirements of the location
  • Brake certification preferred, must be obtained within 6 months of hire date
  • Vocational training preferred
  • Exceptional written and oral communication skills
  • Self-starter; self-motivated
