Job Summary
Prepare processed meat for display by packaging, labeling, and weighing products while ensuring correct pricing and signage. Stock and rotate market products to maintain freshness, inspect items for texture and aroma, and organize coolers and freezers per company guidelines. Operate digital equipment, scales, and pallet jacks to stack pallets and sort inventory efficiently. Provide customer service by greeting shoppers, answering questions, and using suggestive selling initiatives. Maintain a clean, safe environment by adhering to safety procedures and reporting hazards. Requires Food Handler certification, ability to lift up to 75 lbs, and flexible scheduling including nights, weekends, and holidays.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 18 years of age
- Food Handler certification
- Ability to read and operate digital equipment, meters, dials, and/or calibrated scales
- Ability to safely operate and maintain department equipment
- Ability to use precision and non-precision hand tools
- Ability to operate a manual or electric pallet jack
- Ability to safely operate hazardous tools and equipment such as a bailer
- Ability to work with objects with sharp edges such as knives, box cutters
- Ability to work flexible schedules including nights, weekends and holidays
- Must be attentive to potential hazards and remedy or place appropriate warning signs or devices around or near the hazard as soon as is reasonably possible
- Must report any potential hazards that cannot be immediately remedied to a supervisor
- Ability to safely lift objects up to 40 lbs
- Ability to safely lift objects up to 75 lbs
- Ability to stand or walk continuously
- Ability to use hands for reaching, touching or handling
- Ability to bend, kneel, squat, or stoop
- Ability to talk and hear
- Ability to use close vision, distance vision, depth perception or the ability to focus
