Job Summary
Meatcutter processes meat products, fulfills special customer requests, maintains full, fresh market and seafood cases, and assists customers with specialty cuts. Responsibilities include cutting, weighing, packaging, and labeling meat; using both non-precision and precision hand tools to reach desired sizes and weights; operating and maintaining equipment; ensuring product quality and food safety standards; adhering to government origin labeling; greeting customers and providing service by answering questions and making recommendations for special cuts. The role requires attention to safety around sharp tools and machinery, ability to learn new systems, and flexibility to work nights, weekends, and holidays. The position is based in a retail store environment in Minden, LA, with the company supporting growth, development, and inclusive culture.
Required Qualifications
- High school Diploma or GED
- Food Handler certification
- Minimum age 18; 21+ to drive for company business
- one or more years of related experience
- Ability to safely work with sharp objects (knives, box cutters)
- Ability to operate and maintain department equipment
- Ability to work flexible schedules including nights, weekends and holidays
