Job Summary
Wrap, weigh, and label product while serving as the final inspector before items are displayed. Apply merchandising labels, insert prices, and ensure accuracy. Stock cases, rotate product, and maintain proper scale care and refrigeration temperatures. Provide prompt, friendly customer service by greeting shoppers, answering phones, and assisting with product retrieval. Trays bulk product, trims, slices, or tenderizes special orders, and ensures signage and cleanliness comply with food safety programs. Report out-of-stock items to the Meat Manager and adhere to strict hygiene and dress guidelines.
Required Qualifications
- High School or equivalent
- Hy-Vee food safety training
- Six months or less of similar or related work
- Must be physically able to exert up to 50 pounds of force (energy exerted) occasionally
- Must be physically able to exert up to 20 pounds of force frequently
- Must be physically able to exert up to 10 pounds of force constantly
- Vision from less than 20 inches to more than 20 feet with or without correction
- Depth perception
- Color vision (ability to identify and distinguish colors)
- Field of vision
