Job Summary
Maintain stock levels on the Meat Department sales floor by replenishing products and executing the boomerang theory for exceptional guest service. Assist customers with locating items, receive and fulfill orders, and wrap meat and seafood in appropriate packaging. Ensure accurate pricing, rotate and remove product by date, and inspect items to maintain quality control and proper temperatures. Keep inventory levels correct for containers, wraps, and tags while maintaining food safety logs and following all safety procedures. Resolve guest concerns and address issues by practicing the boomerang principal. Ensure quantity expectations are met at 100% by 10 am and 5 pm. Work in a fast-paced environment requiring tactful communication and adherence to safety policies for equipment like slicers and trash compactors.
Required Qualifications
- Ability to deal tactfully and effectively with customers and all personnel
- Good oral and written communication skills
- Ability to handle a diverse crew in a highly stressful environment
- Complete understanding of all safety requirements and company safety policies
- Ability to apply on-the-job safety training to recognize and react to possible safety hazards on store premises
- Knowledge of slicers
- Knowledge of proper lifting techniques
- Knowledge of trash compactor
- Knowledge of baler
- Ability to lift up to 80 pounds on an occasional basis
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
