Meat/Seafood Manager

Job Summary
Manage the sales and operations of the Meat & Seafood Department by planning cutting lists, processing meat to maximize gross profit, and overseeing ordering, receiving, storage, and rotation of merchandise. Engage and develop team members through coaching, performance reviews, and recruitment decisions while confidently addressing concerns and taking corrective actions as needed. Create and adjust staffing schedules to ensure maximum productivity and communicate standards and product knowledge to the team. Serve as a Key Carrier or Manager on Duty as required. This role requires standing for up to four hours, lifting up to 90 lbs, and working flexible shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays. Required Qualifications
- At least 18 years of age
- Basic knowledge of math, weights and measures
- Minimum of 2 year's meat cutting experience in the grocery or restaurant industry
- Leadership experience
- Ability to perform other related duties as assigned
- Capability to stand for up to 4 hours continuously
- Capability to stand for a total of 8 hours per shift
- Ability to walk up to 2 miles per 8 hours
- Ability to work inside a temperature controlled area
- Good vision
- Ability to lift/carry products horizontally/vertically between 25 to 90 lbs.
- Ability to lift/carry products from 4" to 60", a distance up to 10 feet for 20 hours
- Ability to use a pallet jack to move pallets horizontally up to 500 lbs.
- Ability to use a pallet jack requiring a force of up to 85 lbs.
- Ability to use a pallet jack for a distance up to 100 feet for up to 5 hours
- Ability to horizontally move racks of products weighing up to 70 lbs.
- Ability to move racks requiring a force up to 25 lbs.
- Ability to move racks for a distance up to 50 feet for up to 10 hours
- Ability to move tables weighing up to 70 lbs.
- Ability to move tables requiring a force greater than 35 lbs.
- Ability to move tables for a distance up to 2 feet for up to 1 hour
- Ability to work a flexible schedule that changes as the business changes
- Ability to work nights
- Ability to work weekends
- Ability to work holidays
- Working knowledge of personnel reports
- Working knowledge of margin reports
- Working knowledge of weekly sales numbers
- Working knowledge of financial goals
