Job Summary
Manage daily operations of meat and seafood departments by executing merchandising plans, training cutters on standards, and ensuring compliant operating conditions. Deliver fresh, appealing products with courteous service while forecasting sales, ordering inventory, and maintaining core assortment and case flow. Complete administrative tasks including scheduling, pricing changes, and inventory processes to ensure profitability and production planning compliance. Uphold food safety, sanitation, and regulatory standards by inspecting products, managing recalls, and enforcing proper temperature logs. Balance physical labor with leadership duties to build team trust, manage schedules for peak hours, and foster an inclusive environment.
Required Qualifications
- High School / GED
- Must be 18 years of age
- Authorization to work in the United States or the ability to obtain the same
- Successful completion of pre-employment drug testing and background check
- 3 - 6 yrs minimum Supervisory Experience
- Strong customer service skills
- Exceptional interpersonal, motivational and communication skills
- Knowledge of basic math
- Ability to handle stressful situations
- Knowledge of cutting, traying, wrapping, and labeling
- Possess adequate knife handling skills and knife speed
- Proficient with computer applications used in effectively operating the department
- Possession of Food Safety Certification or the ability to obtain same within 180 days of placement
- Must be able to lift 250 lbs
- Must be able to lift 70 lbs
- Must be available for varied shifts, including three to four evening (prime time) shifts each week
- Must be able to stand or walk on various types of flooring
- Must be able to utilize manual dexterity
- Must be able to talk, see, hear, smell and perform repetitive movements with both hands and/or both feet
- Must be able to reach at waist level or overhead
- Must be able to carry, push, or lift various loads
- Must be able to sit, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch and climb up to 10 ft
- Must be able to twist back and/or neck
- Must be able to walk on a slippery or cluttered floor surface
- Must be able to work with hazardous equipment
- Must be able to be exposed to sharp objects
- Must be able to be exposed to loud noise, skin irritants, nuisance dust, fumes and sprays, hazardous cleaning solutions and other toxins
- Must be able to work in indoor, outdoor, cold, freezing, heated, and wet/humid working conditions
