Job Summary
Receive, store, and grind meats; unloads and transports fresh, cured, and boxed meats and poultry from delivery truck; counts and weighs incoming articles against an invoice; and examines meats in storage to rotate stock and avoid aging. Provide prompt, friendly customer service by assisting customers with questions, special orders, and product location directions while maintaining a positive work environment. Adhere to all procedural guidelines, including the "Clean as You Go" and "Fresh at 4" Programs, and perform general housekeeping by cleaning and sanitizing work areas. Work flexible shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays, standing for up to four hours continuously and lifting products up to 90 lbs. Required Qualifications
- Be at least 18 years of age
- Have a high school diploma or equivalent
- Have a basic knowledge of math, weights and measures
- Be dependable and reliable
- Have an outgoing and friendly behavior
- Have a positive attitude
- Have the ability to interact with customers
- Have the ability to work a flexible schedule that changes as the business changes including nights, weekends and holidays
- Have good communication skills
- Have the ability to take direction
- Have the ability to participate in a team environment
- Must be capable of standing for up to 4 hours continuously
- Must be able to stand for a total of 8 hours per shift
- Must be able to walk up to 2 miles per 8 hours
- Be able to work inside a temperature controlled area
- Possess good vision
- Be able to lift/carry products horizontally/vertically between 25 to 90 lbs.
- Be able to lift/carry products from 4" to 60"
- Be able to lift/carry products a distance up to 10 feet
- Be able to lift/carry products for 20 hours
- Be able to use a pallet jack to move pallets horizontally up to 500 lbs.
- Be able to use a pallet jack requiring a force of up to 85 lbs.
- Be able to use a pallet jack a distance up to 100 feet
- Be able to use a pallet jack for up to 5 hours
- Be able to horizontally move racks of products weighing up to 70 lbs.
- Be able to horizontally move racks requiring a force up to 25 lbs.
- Be able to horizontally move racks a distance up to 50 feet
- Be able to horizontally move racks for up to 10 hours
- Be able to move tables weighing up to 70 lbs.
- Be able to move tables requiring a force greater than 35 lbs.
- Be able to move tables a distance up to 2 feet
- Be able to move tables for up to 1 hour
