Job Summary
Oversee department operations including perishables, center store, inventory flow, receiving, and shelf edge with specific emphasis on your area of expertise. Manage staffing, training, and employment decisions while conducting detailed store and department walks to monitor inventory estimates and Direct Store Delivery accounting. Create weekly schedules, order product, and perform quality control to ensure proper levels and food safety compliance. Lead cross-functional teams to execute merchandising plans, drive sales in produce and bakery, and maintain total store alignment. Work a flexible schedule including night shifts in a fast-paced environment requiring moderate to heavy lifting and long periods of standing.
Required Qualifications
- Operational / Retail Management experience
- Leadership experience in a complex environment with multiple direct reports
- Thorough understanding of retail accounting
- Experience in ordering
- inventory maintenance
- shrink control
- Leadership skills (people leadership, ownership mentality, know the business, strategic planner, adaptable)
- Interpersonal skills
- Must be able to work a flexible schedule, including night shifts
- Completion of H-E-B's or JVSS's Management Training Program
- Successful completion of JVSS
- H-E-B School of Retail Management SORM
- Must be able to lift moderate to heavy loads
