Job Summary
Lead day-to-day department operations in a retail store, ensuring associates are trained, the team is fully staffed, and all company goals and key performance indicators are met. Order and maintain inventory while validating received orders for quality, count, and weight, then store products in appropriate areas. Manage a team responsible for stocking, production planning, date-sensitive rotation, and handling spoiled or damaged goods per established guidelines. Maintain familiarity with all products, advertised items, special prices, and sales rewards programs. Execute weekly and period Flight Plans, manage labor control, overtime, and payroll expenses, and develop department goals and forecasts. Participate in daily huddles, manager meetings, and district or company-level meetings as required. Ensure all food safety and general safety guidelines are followed, taking immediate corrective action if violations occur. Implement Our Winning Recipe and model core values and competencies. Maintain a clean, attractive, and well-stocked department using structure of the day guidelines and Prime Time standards.
Required Qualifications
- High School Graduate (Required) or Equivalent (GED)
- Ability to lift and/or move up to 30 pounds frequently, and up to 50 pounds occasionally
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time
- Ability to bend, stoop, twist and turn frequently
- Ability to work in a typical retail store environment (varied temperatures)
- Ability to be exposed to outside weather conditions
- Ability to work in a low to moderate noise level environment
- Ability to travel (requirements vary by assignment)
Desired Qualifications
- Two years of retail experience preferred
- One-year supervisory experience preferred
- Strong written and verbal communication, and bookkeeping skills
- Good organization, prioritization, decision-making, problem solving and conflict management skills
- Strong leadership abilities with capability to work in a hands-on environment
- Good strategic planning and business acumen skills
- Good knowledge of retail store operations
- Knowledge of retail management systems
- Proficiency in Word, Excel and PowerPoint
- Ability to communicate in Spanish
