Job Summary
Supervise workers engaged in preparing meat and maintain department paperwork and records daily. Train staff in food preparation, sanitation, and safety while inspecting supplies, equipment, and work areas to ensure conformance to standards. Resolve customer complaints, assign duties, and analyze operational problems such as theft and wastage to improve service quality and job safety. Ensure coolers and cases run at proper temperatures, complete markdowns as necessary, and maintain accurate bookkeeping for weekly and monthly purchases. Control shrink through inventory and ordering, develop departmental budgets and policies, and arrange for equipment repairs. Work within the meat operation budget, verify time tickets, and perform specific tasks assigned by the store manager.
Required Qualifications
- High School Graduate or General Education Degree (GED)
- Basic math calculations
- Accessible phone at all times
- Must be able to grind and stack beef in temperatures ranging from 28 degrees to 32 degrees frequently
- Ability to lift / carry 10 lbs or less frequently
- Ability to walk 11-20 lbs occasionally
- Ability to handle / finger 51-100 lbs frequently
- Ability to reach outward over 100 lbs frequently
- Ability to reach above shoulder occasionally
- Ability to push / pull 12 lbs or less occasionally
- Ability to push / pull 13-25 lbs occasionally
- Subject to pre-employment background and drug screening
- Must be available for nights and weekends
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Ability to communicate effectively with others using the spoken word
- Ability to pay attention to the minute details of a project or task
- Ability to work at a sustained pace and produce quality work
