Job Summary
Meat Lead oversees meat department operations, including the preparation, cutting, packaging, and merchandising of fresh meat products while following company guidelines and food-safety standards (ServSafe). The role focuses on inventory management, accurate labeling and pricing, FIFO product rotation, and monitoring production processes. Responsibilities include analyzing sales and waste data to identify improvements, maintaining product quality and freshness, ensuring sanitation and safety compliance, escalating operational concerns when needed, and supporting seasonal promotions and club initiatives. The position requires strong knowledge of meat cutting and handling, data-driven decision-making, attention to detail, and proficiency with basic computer applications. The role supports club goals without direct supervisory responsibilities and demands consistent attendance and adherence to company standards.
Required Qualifications
- 2+ years of experience in meat department operations, retail, or food service
- Strong knowledge of meat cutting, handling, and food safety regulations
- Ability to analyze sales and operational data to drive performance improvements
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational and problem-solving skills
- Proficiency in basic computer applications (MS Word, Excel, Email)
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Must maintain all training and required certifications
