Job Summary
Cut and prepare meat products for display cases, smoke various meats, and rotate inventory by monitoring expiration dates. Assist customers at the counter by weighing, wrapping, and pricing items while answering questions and resolving complaints professionally. Operate, clean, and maintain all equipment safely, ensuring the work area meets sanitation guidelines. Accurately count merchandise, change shelf tags, and implement customer service standards. Obtain a food handling permit within the first 14 days and meet Journeyman Meat Cutter training requirements within two years.
Required Qualifications
- A food handling permit
- Journeyman Meat Cutter status
- Completion of ongoing training and development as listed on the Cosentino Learning Plan
- Ability to reach overhead with both arms up to a maximum of 75 inches
- Ability to twist at the waist
- Ability to lift objects with both hands weighing up to 20 lbs
- Ability to push and pull grocery items/carts to the proper locations as needed, up to a peak force of 40 lbs
- Ability to stand and walk for long periods of time on tile, asphalt, concrete or other hard surfaces
- Ability to lift and carry up to 80 lbs
- Ability to bend, squat and crouching, at times all the way to floor level
- Ability to work in colder conditions of the grocery coolers and freezers
- Strong verbal and interpersonal skills
- Basic math and reading skills
