Job Summary
Meat Dept. Assistant Manager oversees and coordinates activities of 2 to 15 employees in the meat area, interviews and hires applicants, orders product and supplies, and maintains paperwork and bookkeeping. Responsibilities include meat cutting and wrapping using tools such as meat saw, slicer, grinder, tenderizer, wrapping and weight equipment; stocking shelves and cases; serving customers by taking orders, handling money, and making change; and performing general cleaning. May work in refrigerated areas. Requires standing for long periods, basic math for quantities, and proficiency with hand and power tools. Also covers additional tasks like weighing, wrapping, and pricing merchandise, stock display cases, and handling customer orders.
