Job Summary
Meat Cutter responsible for filling the display case, preparing marinades, and making cuts of meat including carnitas, barbacoa y chicharrón for Mexico/U.S. markets. Tasks include inventory management, temperature control, adherence to health standards, cleaning the meat market area (including freezers), optimizing sales, reporting hazards, and performing any other tasks assigned by the store manager. Requires 2 years of experience, knowledge of Mexican meat cuts (carnitas, barbacoa y chicharrón), ability to read at an eighth-grade level, basic math, and flexibility to work weekends/holidays. Knowledge of scales and weight measurements essential; familiarity with maintaining clean, safe work areas is required.
Required Qualifications
- 2 years of experience as a meat cutter
- Ability to read at an eighth-grade level
- Basic knowledge of mathematics (addition, subtraction, multiplication and division)
- Knowledge of the weight measurements
- Ability to use the scales
- Knowledge of Mexican meat cuts
- Knowledge of carnitas, barbacoa y chicharrón
- Availability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays
