Job Summary
Lead the day-to-day operations of the meat department in a SpartanNash/C&S store, supervising associates and ensuring department staffing and training. Cut and prepare all types of meats to prescribed standards, manage inventory and order fulfillment, validate received orders, and maintain product quality and freshness. Coordinate with the Department Manager on scheduling, labor control, overtime, and payroll expenses; ensure adherence to food safety and PPE guidelines; support department goals, production planning, and KPI achievement. Maintain knowledge of products, promotions, and store policies; train and develop staff, conduct daily huddles, and uphold department standards for cleanliness, organization, and guest experience.
Required Qualifications
- High school graduate or equivalent (GED)
- Ability to read, write, comprehend, and interpret documents
- Basic mathematical skills
- Detail oriented
- Basic computer skills (email, spreadsheets)
