Job Summary
Meat Manager oversees all aspects of the meat department operations, directs and schedules staff, controls inventory and ordering, and performs production tasks such as cutting, weighing, packaging and merchandising of meat items. Responsibilities include unloading products from trucks, operating meat processing equipment, stocking and rotating inventory, assisting customers, maintaining sanitation, and documenting sales and weights. The role requires reading and writing, arithmetic for pricing and inventory, ability to lift up to 100 pounds, and working in a refrigerated environment, with shifts typically up to 8 hours.
Required Qualifications

- Lift & stack up to 100 pounds
- Reach & stock product up to 6 feet high
- Travel to & from work
- Operate saws, cubers, slicers, scales, grinders and labeling machines
- Normally work a maximum 8 hour shift
- Provide assistance to customers and employees
- Prepare, weigh and price product to maximize gross profit, stock, merchandise and rotate product
- Write work schedules and supervise employees
- Maintain sales and other written records
- Perform freshness checks and re-condition product
- Perform sweeping, cleaning and mopping functions
- Operate telephones and intercoms
- Maintain sanitation standards
