Job Summary
Meat Cutter responsibilities include unloading meat, staging in cooler/freezer, cutting and trimming portions, weighing, packaging, and stocking meat products. Operates meat saws, cubers, slicers, grinders, scales, labeling machines, and related equipment; uses knives/cleavers; assists customers with order selections and suggests selling opportunities. Maintains product freshness, checks codes, rotates stock, and ensures sanitation. Performs cleaning, records keeping, and basic arithmetic (adds/subtracts/multiplies/divides). Works shifts up to 8 hours in refrigerated environments (0–55 degrees); lifts/stacks up to 100 pounds; may travel to work. Reports to work as scheduled and follows verbal/written instructions; may push/pull wheeled equipment up to 1000 pounds. Also inventories, stocks, prices products, and handles overall shop upkeep and customer assistance.
