Job Summary
Meat Manager leads the meat department operations, directing scheduling, ordering to support advertising and profits, and supervising employees. Responsibilities include unloading trucks, cutting and trimming meat, weighing, wrapping, packaging, stocking on racks up to 6 feet high, operating saws and related equipment, ensuring product freshness, handling inventory and vendor checks, maintaining sanitation, and assisting customers. Requires ability to read and write, perform basic arithmetic, lift up to 100 pounds, work in a refrigerated environment, and follow verbal/written instructions; shifts typical and up to 8 hours per day.

- Operate saws, cubers, slicers, scales, grinders and labeling machines
- Normally work a maximum 8 hour shift
- Provide assistance to customers and employees
- Prepare, weigh, package and price product to maximize gross profit, stock, merchandise and rotate product
- Write work schedules and supervise employees
- Maintain sales and other written records
- Perform freshness checks and re-condition product
- Perform sweeping, cleaning and mopping functions
- Operate telephones and intercoms
- Maintain sanitation standards
