Job Summary
Meat Cutter needed to fill the display case, perform cuts for Mexico/U.S. recipes (carnitas, barbacoa, chicharrón), prepare marinades, manage inventory and temperatures, ensure health standards and cleanliness, and assist with sales optimization. Responsibilities include maintaining the meat market area, applying safety practices, reporting equipment hazards, and performing other tasks as assigned by the Store Manager. Requires 2 years of meat-cutting experience, knowledge of Mexican cuts and dishes, ability to read at an eighth-grade level, basic math, familiarity with scales and weight measurements, and availability for a flexible schedule including weekends and holidays. Location is Houston, TX, US with in-person work expectation.
Required Qualifications
- 2 years of experience as a meat cutter
- Ability to read at an eighth-grade level
- Basic knowledge of mathematics (addition, subtraction, multiplication and division)
- Knowledge of the weight measurements
- Ability to use the scales
- Knowledge of Mexican meat cuts
- Knowledge of carnitas, barbacoa y chicharrón
- Availability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays
