Job Summary
Conduct daily meat cutting, gridding, and tenderizing while preparing cutting lists and managing inventory orders. Monitor refrigeration temperatures, perform quality tests, and ensure strict adherence to hygiene and safety guidelines. Provide prompt, friendly customer service by greeting shoppers, answering phones, and assisting with product retrieval. Manage the department in the manager's absence, wrap and label products, and maintain organized coolers. Requires night and weekend shifts, a high school diploma, food safety training, and the ability to lift up to 100 pounds. Starting wage is $12.00 to $15.00 hourly.
Required Qualifications
- High School or equivalent
- Hy-Vee food safety training
- Over one year of related work experience preferred
- Night & Weekend Shifts Required
- Must be able to solve practical problems; variety of variables with limited standardization; interpret instructions
- Must have the ability to do arithmetic calculations involving fractions, decimals, and percentages
- Must be able to file, post, and mail materials
- Must be able to copy data from one record to another
- Must be able to talk with customers to identify their requests
- Must be able to guide people and provide basic direction
- Must be physically able to exert up to 100 pounds of force (energy exerted) occasionally
- Must be physically able to exert up to 50 pounds of force frequently
- Must be physically able to exert up to 10 pounds of force constantly
- Vision from less than 20 inches to more than 20 feet with or without correction
