Job Summary
As a Meat Cutter, you will support meat department operations, including staffing, supervision, price maintenance, cleanliness, and safe equipment use. Responsibilities include assisting in inventory management, following food safety guidelines, and maintaining merchandising standards. The role requires strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills, along with the ability to build relationships and provide exceptional customer service. Candidates should possess a high school diploma or equivalent, be at least 18 years old, and ideally have three years of experience in a meat market or retail grocery store.
Required Qualifications
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Ability to work a flexible schedule including evenings, weekends and holidays as needed
- Ability to interpret, understand and follow instructions
- Ability to complete tasks in a timely manner
- Moves, lifts, carries and places merchandise and supplies weighing less than or equal to 100 pounds without assistance
- Frequent overhead and below the knee reaching including pushing, pulling, bending, stooping, crouching and twisting
- Occasional squatting, kneeling and climbing
- Continuous repetitive motion with hands and arms, such as grasping, gripping and turning
- Stands and/or walks continuously throughout shift
- Visually locates merchandise and verifies information, often in small print
- Exposed to various weather conditions and cleaning solvents, as well as allergens
Desired Qualifications
- 3 years previous experience working in meat market or retail grocery store
